Entrance[]

Netherrealm Portal[]

A portal to the netherrealm appears and Scorpion jumps out of it.

Special Attacks[]

Neutral B - Bloody Spear[]

Scorpion ejects a spear from his hand (like in the movie adaptation of the game) and says either "Get over here!" or "Come here!" If you pull an opponent towards you, the opponent becomes dizzy. You can then press B again to uppercut the opponent. You can hold down B and choose a direction to throw the spear. The spear can also be used to grapple to an edge of the stage. At the moment the spear stabs the opponent's chest, you can press B again to burn them as shown in the gameplay trailer of Mortal Kombat X.

Side B - Fireball[]

Scorpion removes his mask and shoots a fireball like in Mortal Kombat 4. You can hold down B to shoot a stream of fire with a control scheme similar to Bowser's or Charizard's flamethrower. However, the stream will stop after holding B for 15 seconds. You are then needed to wait for it to cool down before you can do it at full power again. Any items that come into direct contact with the flames will become small fire traps.

Up B - Hellraiser[]

Scorpion raises his hands and flames arise from under him. The flames will make him ascend in any direction you steer him in with the analog stick, similar to Diddy Kong's Rocketbarrel Boost minus the starting chargeup. Obviously the flames harm anyone who touches them. This recovery lasts for 5 seconds. On land, he makes the flames arise around him like in the boss fight from Shaolin Monks. It doesn't matter which way you face or how long you hold B. They have no fixed order of how they arise.

Down B - Netherportal[]

A red ring appears under Scorpion which can be controlled with the analog stick similar to Cosmo's teleportation ring. You can't even move the ring off the edge of the stage. When you choose where you want to teleport with A, Scorpion arises doing an uppercut. You can also shoot the spear into the portal with B, pulling any opponent caught by it to Scorpion's grabbing position. You are vulnerable when you're trying to choose where you want to appear from afar, so watch your back.

Final Smash - Toasty![]

Scorpion removes his mask, revealing his skull. His skull then ignites and he breathes fire on the opponent that is closest to him, mid-range. The opponent, of course, suffers from afterburn for 20 seconds, but the opponent can still move around along with attacking and then explodes in a bloody fashion, resulting in an instant KO. During the afterburn, you can pass it onto others upon direct contact. The flames will also be put out after the opponent is KO'd. This Final Smash was inspired by his trademark Fatality throughout the Mortal Kombat franchise.

Final Smash (Alt.) - Annihilation[]

Scorpion opens a portal in front of him. Anyone nearby will be sucked in. Moments later, he and his opponent are automatically transported to Scorpion's Lair where numerous of his dead Shirai Ryu clan members rise from the ground to utterly destroy the opponent. The Final Smash is presumed to be brutal enough to fade to black as the opponent is beaten before a splat and an intense scream is heard and the opponent(s) are sent flying out of the Netherrealm with a devastating uppercut for a guaranteed KO on the upper blast line. Scorpion then jumps out of the portal that was made and closes it. This Final Smash was inspired by Scorpion's second Fatality in UMK3.

Snake Codec[]

Snake: "There's a ninja throwing spears around!"

Colonel: "That is Scorpion. He was once a human like us. But he, his family, and his clan were exterminated by Sub-Zero, a member of the Lin Kuei."

Snake: "So, he isn't human then?"

Colonel: "Correct. His spirit was resurrected by the sorcerer Quan Chi. He is fueled by revenge and will stop at nothing to get his vengeance."

Snake: "Sounds like a scary guy."

Colonel: "Scorpion is well known for his spear ability, enabling him to snatch foes and pull them through the air towards him, leaving them open for an attack. Be very careful when dealing with Scorpion, Snake."

Snake: "Don't worry, Colonel. I eat scorpions for breakfast."

Colonel: "I...believe you, Snake..."

Character Description[]

It is known that his father, a former member of the Shirai Ryu, forbade his son from joining the clan, as he did not wish for his son to live the life of an assassin. However, Hanzo joined in spite of his father's wishes in order to provide his wife and son with a comfortable life. Now Scorpion is a hell-spawned spectre, inexorably seeking vengeance against those responsible for the destruction of his clan and the death of his own family. Despite his malevolent appearance, he is not inherently evil. He joins the forces of evil when promised a means of resurrecting his clan on Earth, or the chance to inflict his wrath against those who butchered them. Scorpion has also (indirectly) assisted the game's protagonists to fulfill these motives.

Scorpion is perceived by fans as the title's foremost anti-hero. He undertakes actions that benefit the forces of good, albeit in his own gruesome and vigilante manner. His attitude, appearance and self-reliance have all contributed to his popularity. Compared to the purely virtuous "good guys", and the diabolically evil "bad guys", Scorpion's moral neutrality is unique. Although he is featured alongside the forces of evil in the opening scene of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, he remains neutral due to his fierce hatred of Quan Chi.

Scorpion appears human when masked, though this is merely an illusion. Only his skull remains when his true form, sometimes ablaze. Scorpion's most popular and recognized skill is his famous spear attack, which is used to draw an opponent toward him. This attack will also stun the opponent for a short amount of time. Scorpion will shout, "Get over here!" or "Come here!", while executing this technique.
